This Circular has been prepared pursuant to Presidential Decree No. 1 on the Organisation of the Presidency, published in the duplicate Official Gazette No. 30474 dated 10/07/2018, under which carrying out the project approvals of wastewater treatment plants is defined among the duties of the Directorate General of Environmental Management. Within this scope, it aims to ensure the selection of wastewater treatment technologies that deliver the required treatment efficiency at an appropriate investment and operating cost, so that our country’s water resources are protected and used sustainably in line with national interests.
