This Communiqué has been prepared in order to lay down the fundamental technical procedures and practices to be applied in the selection of technology and the design criteria of wastewater treatment plants treating wastewater originating from settlements, in the disinfection and reuse of treated wastewater and its deep sea discharge, and in the disposal of the sludge generated during treatment operations.
